My Regime - Camilla Freeman Topper

It’s no secret Camilla Freeman Topper is a remarkable businesswoman. Over the past thirteen years, the Camilla and Marc designer has, together with brother and co-founder Marc, evolved their luxury womenswear label into every international fashion girl’s must-have brand. What you may not know is that Camilla is also whip-smart, a phenomenal mum, and incredibly humble. To wit, I’m often struck by how completely unaware she is of her own beauty. Here, Camilla sounds off on the beauty products she can’t be without, how she keeps her complexion in check whilst travelling, and the less-is-more skincare advice she wishes she could give her younger self.

What is the first thing that you do in the morning?

Crash cuddle my three beautiful kids, then train or do yoga.

What is your morning skincare regime?

After I cleanse, I apply my morning serum - right now that's SkinMedica TNS Essential Serum - and then Actinica SPF 50 as my sunscreen and moisturiser.

What is your evening skincare regime?

After I cleanse I use Cosmedix Serum 16, Results RX Eye Dr and Aspect Dr Resveratrol Moisturising Creme. Two nights a week I exfoliate with Cane + Austin Retexturizing Treatment Pads.

What’s the last thing that you do before going to sleep?

Meditate. I should do it in the morning but between the kids and training I find nighttime works better for my routine.

What are the three skincare products you can’t be without?

Actinica SPF 50—I’m obsessed, SkinMedica TNS Essential Serum, and Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask.

What makeup products can’t you be without?

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate.

Favourite body products?

Kiehl’s Creme de Corps. I’ve also just started using Sisley Cellulinov—it’s heaven.

Do you have any favourite skin or beauty secrets or tricks?

A Light Therapy facial, especially before or after a long flight. I also ensure I see Melanie beforehand for a radiance facial, and again for a quick treatment upon my return.

What is your favourite skin treatment?

Radiance Facials combined with Light Therapy at MELANIE GRANT.

Favourite tips for travelling?

I drink lots of water to keep hydrated, try to sleep as much as possible (although that can be challenging on quick business trips), and eat good, healthy food. I am also particularly vigilant with my skincare regime to ensure it remains the same no matter which country I’m in.

What’s your everyday makeup regime?

I use Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate, and mascara.

What regular treatments do you have to maintain your complexion?

For me it’s about being consistent with in-clinic treatments. I have a Bespoke Facial with Melanie every four weeks and Radiance Facials before an event or flight.

What does your diet look like on a day-to-day basis?

I try to be consistent and maintain a healthy diet.

Do you take any supplements?

I should, but I don’t regularly.

Plans for 2017?

Balancing work life and family.

If you could give your younger self advice, what would it be?

To take more of a preventative approach with my skincare and to not have so many facials focusing on extractions (which can lead to scarring).

What’s one thing that all women should own?

Good skincare.

Tea or coffee?

Neither. Hot water.

Favourite flower?

Magnolias, hydrangeas and David Austin roses.

Listening to…

I’m currently listening to Max Richter: Vivaldi—Four Seasons. My middle daughter is learning violin so we’re actively playing music that features the violin at home and in the car. It just so happens that I have fallen in love, and now actually train to this music, too.
